About our service in Westwood
Westwood is part of our Bergen County service area, and our technicians cover the whole municipality.
11,282 residents across 2.26 square miles, which in practice means a mix of housing rather than one kind, so the useful question when you call is what is on your floor, not what the town is like. Nothing is taken away to be cleaned. The work happens in the property, by appointment, at any hour of the day.
Westwood is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, incorporated in 1894, with 11,282 residents at the 2020 census. 2.26 square miles of land bordering four Pascack Valley municipalities. the triangular park at Westwood Park Place and Old Hook Cemetery are here. Locally it is read by its sections, Old Hook, and a job is quoted on the one you are in rather than on the town line. Known as "The Hub of the Pascack Valley", Westwood broke away from Washington Township in May 1894 as one of the first of the 26 boroughs created in Bergen County that year, with Isaac D. Bogert as first mayor. It annexed the "Old Hook" section of Emerson in 1909 and exchanged further land with Emerson in 1957, and it shares the county's only K-12 regional school district with Washington Township. It borders Emerson, Hillsdale, River Vale, Washington Township.
The housing in Westwood
Concentrated development began with the Hackensack and New York Railroad in 1870, with houses in European-influenced styles going up along Center Avenue from 1872. The 1905 state census counted 234 dwellings housing 1,044 people. The age of a stock decides the method before anything else does: wool and fitted runners want controlled moisture and a dye test, synthetic pile over a pad takes a straight extraction.
Water damage in Westwood
Musquapsink Brook was dammed for an 18th-century mill near today's Mill Street and First Avenue. Carpet that has been wet has a clock on it: caught early most of it returns with a new pad, left standing it becomes a question about mold instead.

Questions
Questions from Westwood customers
Question 1: Do you cover Westwood?
Yes. A borough of 11,282 is a normal stop rather than a special trip, and we take bookings at any hour of the day for it.
Question 2: How long before we can walk on the carpet in Westwood?
That depends on the season. In warm, dry weather most carpet is dry within hours, and in winter thick carpet can take up to 48 hours. The size of the property changes how long the cleaning takes, not how long the drying takes, so a larger Westwood house is not a longer wait.
Question 3: Does the age of the houses in Westwood change anything?
It changes the method. Concentrated development began with the Hackensack and New York Railroad in 1870, with houses in European-influenced styles going up along Center Avenue from 1872, and a stock of that kind decides whether a floor wants controlled moisture and a dye test or a straightforward hot-water extraction. We identify the fiber before anything gets wet, every time.
Question 4: Our Westwood basement flooded. What happens to the carpet and to the padding?
The carpet is often saveable and the padding usually is not, because a pad holds water long after the face of a carpet has dried. A lower level is cooler and damper than the floors above it as well, so air movers are standard down there rather than optional, and we keep reading the materials until they are dry.
Question 5: Which ZIP codes do you cover in Westwood?
Westwood is ZIP code 07675, and every address in it is inside our service area. There is no storefront and no drop-off point, so every service is performed at the address you give us, anywhere inside the town line.

Our new puppy had a field day on our rugs. We needed a thorough cleaning and spot treatment was not enough. Jacob’s very personable but most importantly, did a great job!

I had a great experience with this carpet company! I called this past Friday and they were able to help me right away. From start to finish, Jacob was professional, friendly, and did an excellent job. Jacob was punctual, respectful of my home, and took the time to make sure the carpets were cleaned thoroughly. The difference was amazing and the carpets look refreshed. I really appreciate Jacob’s attention to detail and great customer service. The price was very reasonable for the job that was completed. I would definitely recommend Jacob and Carpet Cleaning Wizards to anyone looking for reliable carpet cleaning!
