A grey sectional sofa cleaned in a home in Union, in Union County. The piece was cleaned in the room where it stands, by low moisture extraction, after a test patch on a hidden panel.
What the photograph shows
A grey sectional set in an L. Three back cushions run along the near side, then a corner seat, then the return continues out of the frame. Stitched seams divide the panels. The floor at the bottom left is wood look plank and the wall behind is plain and pale.
The two seats at the front carry pale diagonal stripes. That is the nap of the cloth lying in the direction the cleaning head was drawn through it, the same effect a vacuum leaves on a carpet. It settles as the fabric dries and the pile lifts again.
One photograph was taken on this job, after the work was finished, so no before condition is described here.
What we did
- Cleaned the sectional where it stood. It was not taken apart, wrapped or moved out of the room.
- Tested a hidden patch first, low on the back or under a cushion, and checked for color lifting before touching any surface in view.
- Cleaned by low moisture extraction, which puts solution into the fabric and draws it back out through the same head, so the piece holds as little water as possible.
- Worked the backs, the arms and the corner wedge as well as the seats.
- Left the nap lying the way the head was drawn. Those are the stripes in the photograph.
- Photographed the finished sectional before leaving.
What you should know
Fabric upholstery is usually dry in about 4 to 8 hours, and it can take longer in cold or humid weather. That is the figure we publish, so plan the day around it. Keep air moving in the room, and leave throws and scatter cushions off until the cloth feels dry to the back of your hand.
The test patch matters. Some upholstery releases dye the moment it gets wet, and a hidden inch of cloth is the place to find that out. If the test shows a piece should not be wet cleaned, you hear it at the estimate rather than afterward.
Sofas are cleaned in place. All services are performed at your home or business, the work happens in the room, and the furniture never leaves you.
When to call us
Call when the seats have gone a shade darker than the arms, or when a sectional looks tired in a way vacuuming does not fix. What we clean and what we will not attempt is set out on Sofa and upholstery cleaning. This job was in the township of Union, and the rest of the area is on Union County. You receive a written estimate before any work begins, and more completed work is on Before and after.
