Cranford Canoe Club, built 1908 and Droeschers Mill, built 1737 on the Rahway River are here. Nicknamed "The Venice of New Jersey" for the Rahway River winding through it. Created in 1871 out of five surrounding townships; Garwood in 1903 and Kenilworth in 1907 were later taken from it.
