About our service in Demarest
Demarest is part of our Bergen County service area, and our technicians cover the whole municipality.
4,981 residents across 2.07 square miles, which in practice means a mix of housing rather than one kind, so the useful question when you call is what is on your floor, not what the town is like. All services are performed at your home or business, by appointment, at the hour that suits you.
Demarest is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, incorporated in 1903, with 4,981 residents at the 2020 census. Duck Pond on the Tenakill Brook and the former Demarest train station, restored by the borough and listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2004 are here. Formed in 1903 from portions of Harrington Township and Palisades Township. The name comes from the Demarest family and from the Demarest train station, itself named for Ralph S. Demarest, a director of the Northern Railroad of New Jersey who served in both houses of the state legislature; the borough bought the station site in 1978 and restored it. It borders Alpine, Closter, Cresskill, Dumont, Haworth.
The housing in Demarest
1,680 housing units at the 2020 census, 4.9% of them vacant. Housing stock nearly static over two decades: 1,634 units in 2000, 1,659 in 2010, 1,680 in 2020. What that changes is the fiber and the access, which is why the first question on the phone is about the property rather than about the price.
Water damage in Demarest
2.08 square miles of total area, almost entirely land (0.34% water). The Duck Pond, a widening of the Tenakill Brook, sits at the center of the borough. We read moisture in the pad and the subfloor with a meter rather than trusting how the surface feels, and say which case you are in before starting.

Questions
Questions from Demarest customers
Question 1: Do you cover Demarest?
Yes. A borough of 4,981 is a normal stop rather than a special trip, and we take bookings at any hour of the day for it.
Question 2: What happens on the day in Demarest?
The fiber is identified, the floor is vacuumed dry, the traffic lanes and the spots are pre-treated and given time to work, then everything is cleaned and rinsed under extraction. Nothing is left sitting in the pile to pull soil back.
Question 3: Does the age of the houses in Demarest change anything?
It changes the method. 1,680 housing units at the 2020 census, 4.9% of them vacant, and a stock of that kind decides whether a floor wants controlled moisture and a dye test or a straightforward hot-water extraction. We identify the fiber before anything gets wet, every time.
Question 4: Water came into a Demarest basement. What decides whether the carpet is saved?
Sometimes, and what decides it is how long the water sat and what was in it rather than how bad it looks. Call as soon as the water is stopped. We read the pad and the subfloor with a meter and say which case you are in before starting.
Question 5: Which ZIP codes do you cover in Demarest?
Demarest is ZIP code 07627, and every address in it is inside our service area. There is no storefront and no drop-off point, so every service is performed at the address you give us, anywhere inside the town line.

Had a great experience with Bob and his son. They were very quick to respond and set up. They finished the job within 30 minutes and cleaned up their area. My dog had diarrhea and peed on the carpet and they took everything out. It looks brand new.Highly recommend.
